Carol and Greg, Nettle Cottages, required a logo that that not only reflected their rural location outside Turriff in Aberdeenshire but a feeling of a tranquil farm setting of their two holiday cottages.

Two logos were reproduced, one for the use with their website. brochure and other coloured media and the other a monotone for paper based paper based products such as notepaper and writing paper etc.

Clan Duncan Society Logo Web & Coloured Media

Clan Duncan Society Gold plate and enamel Bdge

The Clan Duncan Society were very specific in what they wanted for a logo, it had to represent Scotland and the sea due to the connection with Admiral Viscount Duncan of Camperdown and his naval victory over the Dutch fleet in the 18c.

With this in mind the device was created using the stern of the Ship of the line representing the sea and the naval connection upon the cross of the saltier for Scotland.

The logo was then made into the society badge of gold plate and enamel and is now worn by members of the Society all over the world.
